Najwa Borro est chercheuse indépendante et curatrice, spécialisée en arts de l’Afrique.

 

Basée à Bruxelles, elle développe une approche centrée sur les œuvres elles-mêmes.

 

Elle a collaboré avec de nombreuses galeries, maisons de ventes et institutions muséales, en Europe et en Afrique. 

Elle a notamment été assistante scientifique, de 2014 à 2018, auprès d’Yves Le Fur, directeur du département du patrimoine et des collections du musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, et a contribué, entre autres, à la conception de l’exposition Les Forêts natales. Arts d’Afrique équatoriale atlantique.

De 2019 à 2022, elle a dirigé 59 pm à Bruxelles, développant un travail curatorial attentif aux dialogues entre formes artistiques, temporalités et territoires. Elle y a notamment présenté les expositions Superheroes, Tomoo Gokita & something else, Fleur & Kachina, Chaises autour d’une chaise et a golden line, etc.

She has collaborated with numerous galleries, auction houses, and museum institutions across Europe and Africa. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as a research assistant to Yves Le Fur, Director of the Heritage and Collections Department at the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, notably contributing to the conception of the exhibition Les Forêts natales. Arts of Equatorial Atlantic Africa.
From 2019 to 2022, she directed 59 pm in Brussels, developing a curatorial practice attentive to the dialogues between artistic forms, temporalities, and territories.
